| DIRECT TV satellite TV customers have clearly found the new interactive features of the March Madness package very useful and beneficial.
DIRECTV recently reported that approximately 66% of its NCAA Mega March Madness package customers who had interactive receivers had used the on-demand interactive features to keep track of their teams, scores and bracket predictions. Additionally, DIRECT TV said that in excess of 49% used the Game Mix channel and more than 30% pulled up on-screen scores. Furthermore, more than 36% used the tournament bracket feature to make and follow their NCAA bracket picks.
The usage results revealed that customers regularly returned to use the interactive services. For example, 85% of customers with interactive set-top boxes used Game Mix numerous times, 64% accessed on-screen scores more than once, and 67% used the bracket pick feature multiple times. |
