| Earlier this year DIRECT TV said it would offer local HDTV channels to 25 more markets by year's end and they have done it! This brings the number of DIRECTV's local HD markets to 67, now covering 74% of the home nationwide. DIRECT TV, the nation's largest direct-broadcast satellite provider, is engaged in a nationwide expansion of their HDTV programming -- one that will give them the ability to deliver more than 1,500 local HDTV channels and more than 150 national HDTV networks by 2007.
Typical local HDTV channels, including local ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC, are available at no extra charge to subscribers of any "Total Choice" programming package that includes local channels. Click to see local channels available in your area.

With these new markets, DIRECTV now offers local HD channels in 36 cities and plans to launch an additional 13 cities later this year. That will result in DIRECT TV satellite TV providing access to local HD channels in more than 65% of all U.S. television households.
