| World famous poet and author Maya Angelou will begin hosting a show on XM Satellite Radio on the “Oprah and Friends” channel which will be heard weekly. The radio show will be one hour long and Maya Angelou has stated that she hopes to call it “Maya Angelou’s America,” according to the Associated Press reported. The poet hopes to interview the famous, infamous and ordinary people about what it means to them to be ‘an American’.
The “Oprah and Friends” channel will debut on September 25 on XM Radio and Angelou will join fellow authors Dr. Mehmet Oz (You: The Owner’s Manual), Dr. Robin Smith (Lies at the Altar: The Truth About Great Marriages), Marianne Williamson (A Return to Love) and Jean Chatzky (Pay It Down! From Debt to Wealth on $10 a Day) who are also set to host their own radio shows.
