DIRECT TV announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that they would be expanding their HD programming to cover 100 HD channels. The announcement was much anticipated. The channels announced to-date include:

A&E
National Geographic
Bravo
NFL Network
Cartoon Network
SciFi Channel
CNN
Speed
Food Network
TBS
FX
The History Channel
HGTV
The Weather Channel
MTV
USA Network
